After having crossed the tunnel under the Mont-Blanc, and going up the Valsavarenche, Paipai and Bub are preparing their skis on the parking at Pont.
Sylvain and Audrey look glad even if we have to give up Chamonix-Zermatt because of the weather forecasts.
The recent snow give us the impression that we go up the Valsavarenche in the middle of the hiver.
Audrey, Bub and Isa climb the slopes which lead to the refuge Victor Emmanuel II.
Audrey, Paipai and Sylvain in the sharp bends which lead to the refuge.
Paipai and his heavy rucksac are ready to try their first 4000m !
Sylvain is serene despite his heavy rucksac (because of a 50m's rope)...
Isa and Bub going to the refuge. The depth of snow is not good, the recent snow is welcome, because without it we would have to carry our skis .
Bub and Isa arrive to the refuge, pleased with leaving their heavy bags ...
The refuge Victor Emmanuel II. Bub and Isa will stay here while we go on to the pass of Moncorve (Colle di Moncorvé in the italian language), between the Ciarforon and the Tresenta.
Paipai on the glacier of Moncorve. We are short of breath, because it is the first outing in altitude.
And me, with the Tresenta behind us.
We are arrived at the pass of Moncorve, and there is a lot of wind at the Ciarforon.
Despite the weak depth of snow, the cornice are really impressive at the pass of Moncorve.
The Tresenta is under the clouds, and the wind remind us that the winter is not finished here...
... What do you think about that, Paipai ?!!
Audrey and Sylvain, just under the pass of Moncorve.
Audrey will soon unstick her sealskins : it is not easy because her fingers are so cold ;-))
Sylvain at the pass of Moncorve.
The Ciarforon merge in a cloud of light and wind.
The wind is persisting, Paipai wrap up warmly, we are going to go down !
A last glance behind the pass...
And we begin to ski ! Hopefully that the recent snow is here, because the ice is just under...
The slope is not really steep, but we can make beautiful tracks !
When we arrive at the refuge, the clouds are leaving and we can see the Ciarforon.
Stretching in front of an unrestricted view for Audrey and me.
The Ciarforon and the Monciair : an idyllic landscape !
